Dear Grade 5 – 8 Students & Parents,
This spring, we invite you to take advantage of our community outreach music education program: a free-of-charge, un-auditioned choir for students from grades 5 – 8 in the Pembina Valley! At the middle school level, not all students have equal opportunity to sing as part of choir(s) within their own schools, and even students who DO have access to choir at school often do not get to make music as often as they might like! In previous years, we have offered the choir for GVSD students, however we feel that it is truly important that ALL middle years students have access to quality singing - regardless of the division they're registered in.
The middle years are a crucial point of vocal development as students are growing physically and experiencing a voice change, and it is so important to continue to provide instruction and experience for all students who wish to sing, regardless of previous experience and/or musical background.

Eligibility & Commitment:
There is no audition to be in this choir program. It is open to ALL students from grades 5-8 willing to drive to Winkler (this includes homeschool students)! Singers are asked to do their best to attend all rehearsals in order to help us reach our musical goals in such a short time together, but we are happy to have any students join us whenever they are able!
Cost:
Registration is FREE! All supplies used will be from existing choral repertoire and materials.
Rehearsal Dates & Times:
All rehearsals will take place in the GVC Choir Room. It is located in GVC East (Old Administration Building, small building across from Dairy Queen/Ralph’s). This year we will have 4 rehearsals PLUS a final concert celebration.
Each rehearsal we will see: Boys: 4:00 – 5:30 pm & Girls: 4:30 – 6:00 pm
Final Concert
This year's concert will be held at the P.W. Enns Centennial Concert Hall on WEDNESDAY, June 12th, 2019 @ 7:00 pm.
We'll be sharing the stage with Prairie Soundscape, our sister choir for singers age 18-30(ish) and singing one song all together with them!
